We’re excited to announce a beautiful new collection from The Locked Library: The Locked Library Classics.
These special editions will celebrate iconic works of literary history with collectible, lovingly produced editions which will sit outside our regular monthly subscription. Each title in the Classics line will be designed to feel timeless on your shelf, unique to its story and all the while matching the aesthetic of The Locked Library collection as a whole.

Our first Locked Library Classics release is the one and only Dracula by Bram Stoker. Before vampires sparkled, they stalked and Dracula remains the original Gothic masterpiece. It’s a novel of atmosphere, dread, and dark romance that has shaped generations of horror fiction. Our gorgeously designed edition honours that legacy, with stunning art specially crafted for the cover and edges – a truly immersive reading experience to respect the heritage and essence of the story.
'When we first sat down to discuss how we would approach our edition of Dracula, one thing we wanted to capture on the cover was a strong female presence. Historically, Dracula covers have focused heavily on the titular character and his castle, so to create something new and exciting we wanted to lean into the themes of desire and repression that are so present in the novel, and place Mina front and centre. We worked with an incredible illustrator called Anna Moshak on this edition, whose work is so texturally rich and effortlessly powerful.' - Toby James, Middleweight Designer.
"With such a beautiful image, I didn’t want the type to be overbearing and pull focus, but tried to add a modern touch with the fangs descending from the ‘r’ and ‘l’. The final piece of the puzzle was how to reimagine our signature matching spines. All Locked Library Classics will feature an imitation quarter bind coloured strip that creates an elevated and sophisticated look, and the spines feature our new Classics logo designed by Lydia Blagden." - Toby James, Middleweight Designer.
